The WoW Druid is a powerful healer who is made only more valuable to her party by the ability to take on the form of a sturdy bear or deadly cat.
The Druid is one of the most entertaining classes to play in World of Warcraft, giving the player flexibility unmatched by the other classes.
For starters, Druids are second only to the Priest in Healing ability making great use of their healing over time spells.
In a pinch, they are also able to fill in as tank in bear form or as a DPS class in cat form, and many groups want a druid simply for the buffs and crowd control.WoW
Druid Talent Trees – Balance, Restoration, and Feral
Players may choose to spec, or specialize, their character in many ways by using the three talent trees – balance, restoration and feral.
The balance tree focuses on raising the Druid’s offensive spell casting damage (DPS), culminating in Moonkin Form. A Druid in Moonkin form gains an increase in armor, a spell critical chance increase for the druid and her allies, and a chance to regain mana from spell critical hits. As Moonkin form is offensive, the Druid loses most of her healing and curing spells.
The restoration tree focuses on increasing the Druid’s healing ability, adding a few new spells and the powerful healing form Tree of Life. While in Tree of Life form, the Druid gains a significant increase in healing received for all nearby allies and a reduction of mana cost for healing over time (HoT) spells. Tree of Life is a healing form, therefore the Druid loses the ability to cast most
offensive spells.
Feral Druids in World of Warcraft have a greatly increased melee presence. Most of the talents in this tree focus on improving the shape shifted Druid’s combat ability, speed, and survivability. This talent spec is excellent for the solo or DPS focused Druid, though it is the only talent tree that does not grant an additional form for the Druid.WoW Druid - Bear Form
Bear form is the first gained by the new druid, available at level 10 after completing a series of quests which differ depending on the Druid’s allegiance (Horde or Alliance). This is the tank form for the druid, increasing armor and threat generation, allowing the Druid to play a role similar to that of a Warrior. Dire Bear form is gained at level 40.WoW Druid - Aquatic Form
Aquatic form is gained from your trainer at level 16, and grants the Druid water breathing and an increased movement speed while in the water.WoW Druid – Cat Form
Cat form is
gained at level 20 from a trainer and is the DPS form for the Druid. A Druid in cat form gains melee attack power, the ability to stealth, and a reduction in threat generation. This form allows the Druid to fill a DPS or damage role in a party similar to a rogue.World of Warcraft
