Even before the new poly went into afft, youould download and use it for free off ofurse. You wouldn’t get some of the features, but you got the ones thatounted. The only thing I know the pay to play one did was annoue your when youomplete quests in partyhat.

Domino’s, x perl [an alternative is pitbull whh has a simpler and more info friendly format but may look foriegn if thats how you run] are msotly what i use for my UI. I also use easy poisons [iam sh a lazy ass for this..] and weapon repoisoner [or something similar sounding] {again…LAZY} Theooldownounter i used for my SND, Rupture and HFB stopped working. Seahing for another good one 3.1 ready.
People play many ways for many reasons. Some log into their count eh night in pursuit of more vanity pets or hievements. Others log in to blow off some steam in the battlegrounds. Personally, I keep paying my monthly fee to Blizzard bause I’m hooked on minmaxing. For those who don’t know, minmaxing is the prte of minimizing yourharter’s weaknesses and maximizing their strengths. In thease of my rogue, this mostly represents aontinuing effort to do as mh damage as I possiblyan to a single target for an extended period of time. I see this as the primary role of a rogue in PvE, sie there is little else wean bring to a raid whh benefits others. We have no meaningful group buffs. OurC has very limited applations. Blizzard intentionally designed ourlass with only one purpose in mind – hurting bosses. It is for this reason that I feel it is my responsibility to minmax. I feel that a rogue is a bit of a liability to group, as they tend to get hurt easily and have little else to offer besides dps. I feel that unless my damage output outweighs my intrins risks, unless it outweights the benefit of bringing anotherlass of greater overall utility, then Ian’t justify my presee in the group. Now, I understand others don’t see things the way I do. They may say they just play to have fun. Or they may say they play the sp that feels the most natural to them. I don’t begrudge anybody the right to play the way theyhoose. I try not to pass judgement on others for not doing things “my” way. However, it should be noted that the differee between these people and myself, is that minmaxing is how I have fun. I have more fun going over spreadsheets and loot tables than I would have inside the game shadowstepping up to a mob. It’s more fun to me to see a jump in DPS on a target dummy than it is to blow killing spree. I see the talent trees, gear, gems, all these things as a means to an end. If I believeombat will yield better damage than assassination, then I willhange sps. A boss kill is less meaningful to me than a bit of insight gleaned about mylass on how to squeeze out a bit more damage per sond. It is with this attitude that I approh the game. While some may sneer at those who jump on &quotookieutter” or “flavor of the month” sps – I think this is anti-intelltualism. There is an axiom that says DPS is a iee, healing is an art. Ian assure you, DPS is in ft a iee. There is always an objtive, empirally measurable, theoretally deribable method for maximizing DPS. For Burningrusade, it was 2041. For Wotlk so far, It’s been HaT for stked groups, Assassination for standard groups. I believe the differee between an average player and a great player is their ability to adapt. I think part of the reasoning behind the anti-intelltual sp-bashing is that some players are either unable or unwilling to adapt to thelasshanges that Blizzard hands us. For instae

Quite honestly, I’m a pretty simple kind of gal. On my rogue, the only addons I’ll be using (while in group or in raid.. oe Ian get to 80, ofourse), is DBM and omen. Unfortunately for me, I haven’t had thehae to go update all of my addons and whatnot yet, whh I really need to do.
Addons that I absolutely need are: Dominos Pitbull NuomboBar Gladius
I have been using QuestHelper sie lvl 10 but the new version for 3.1 wont work, I keep getting errors on reen. Anyone else have the same prob & is there an alternative to QH that anyonean rcomend?
I’m not sure if it is updated yet, butarbonite is a mh better “questhelper” mod than Questhelper itself. arbonite takes up less memory, and it give you more lations to kill x mob, orollt y items.
Thanks, will give it a go. Also having probs with the new Ationeer for 3.1 as it wont show as an addon in game, any other suggestions for Ationeer or similar?

on FoK, mros like this are worthless A

Ever sie theyhanged the dagger damageomponent on FoK, mros like this are worthless. A 1.8 speed versus a 1.3 speed does not make that mh of a differee.
Overlord Theophany wrote:Ever sie theyhanged the dagger damageomponent on FoK, mros like this are worthless. Not nessarily more damage from a slower weap. I hope.
If weaponswapping is what you’re trying to complish, I would suggest just making weaponswap mros and swapping manually. That way if you need to rattle off a quk fan to kill off the last of trash, it doesn’t take you 3 D’s to do it and swap bk. In pvp you should be weapon swapping anyways.. so it’s no big deal.
Ok, first time er but long time reader. I just hit 80 & need some adve. My guild is growing & it looks like I will be leading the raids (lvl 60, 70 & 80) while I try to gear up & start Heros. Should I stayombat sp? What glyphs should I use? Should I dual-sp?an I get some adve on how to get my guild mates (& myself) prepared for end-game? www.wowarmoryomcharter-…amp;n=Jatha Thanks

First, you should sp mutilate. ombat daggers is sub-parompared to Mutilate, right now. Sond, you need a lot more hit rating. The poison hitap is 315, and I’m not saying you HAVE to have that mh hit, but it definitely will help. As for glyphs, I’murrently using HfB, Rupture, Mutilate. Dual sp isn’t nessary unless you PvP a lot. When itomes down to getting ready for raiding, you should run a lot of heros. Hero Gun’drak has a ring and pants in it that are upgrades for you personally. Download Atlas loot andhk what instae will give you upgrades. If you’re going to be a raid leader, you really need to start reseahing strategies on the different bosses. Wowwiki has some literature that youan read, but tankspotom has videos that youan wah. Sie you guys are just starting out, you will be going into Naxx, whh isn’t very hard. Make sure your offersraid leaders have a bas knowledge of ehlass so they know what everyone should be doing in raids. Good Lk, and if you need more help….ask Theo :P

RP guide to Azeroth races

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Blogatelle, a multi-author blog on WoW roleplay and commentary, has just finished an exhaustive series of play guides on the 10 playable races of Azeroth and how each perceives and interacts with the world, their allies, and their enemies. Regular readers of WoW Insider and particularly All the World’s a Stage may also recognize the primary author, Sean, as one of our commenters here on the site.
Even if you’re not a roleplayer, the guides are fascinating. They’re well-written, thoroughly researched, and a supremely entertaining (and sometimes funny) guide to the mindset of each race. The guides also give some background into how each race arrived at the perspective that it did, and points out that there are several race combinations (notably Tauren/Gnome and Troll/Draenei) who really know very little about each other, and must rely on the often-biased opinions of their faction colleagues. And even beyond that, it keeps digging into the shifting nature of politics within each faction: why are the Forsaken and the Blood Elves on shakier ideological territory with each other now? Why are the Night Elves so standoffish with the Alliance as a whole, and why do the Humans in particular react badly

your Priest on World
based on your individual race. Each one of the races have a racial spell that the Priests will be able to get at levels ten and twenty. All of the spells the priest will be able t get is beneficial. Trolls, Night Elves, and the Undead are three of the races that have racial spells that compliment the Shadow Build. As you are looking towards gear for your Priest on World of Warcraft, choosing gear that has plus to spirit, stamina and intellect will be beneficial. As you progress through the levels of the game, you will have more and more gear available to you. Shadow Priests are able to do a fair amount of damage, but when they are using those shadow spells, they will not be able to heal.In order to specialize your priest with Shadow Build for the maximum results of leveling, you should refer to your talent points and do so accordingly:Unbreakable Will 5/5 Black Out 5/5 Spirit Tap 5/5 Pain 2/2 Improved Mind Blast 1/5 Improved Psychic Scream 2/2 Mind Flay 1/1

Rogue, cat, arms warrior DPS to be buffed

Monday, April 13th, 2009

As of WoW 3.0, all DPS specs are supposed to be providing competitive DPS; this is one component of “bring the player, not the class. ” Overall I’d say this has turned out pretty well, although within class it still has some issues – almost every mage seems to be Frostfire right now, for instance, and Mutilate rogues are far and away out-damaging other rogue specs. To a certain extent this is probably by design; Subtlety’s strengths in PvP, for instance, might make up for its lower raid DPS.
However, there are some melee that Ghostcrawler has just said are “a little low ” in DPS:
Rogue
Cat Druid
Arms Warrior
The more awake among you may have noticed that “Rogue ” is not a spec. However, I’m reading that as “Combat (and possibly Subtlety) rogue, ” since the blues have said in a few other places that they’re pretty happy with where Mut is right now and that Combat is underperforming.
Ghostcrawler goes on to say that changes are coming to these classes/specs, although of course we don’t have specifics to share with you at this time. When we do, you know where to find us. But until then, what changes do you think would help even out the low DPS? And no, “reroll Death Knight ” doesn’t count (as much as I love mine).

key it will help you to farm
Best Place to Farm Eternal LifeThe best place to farm Eternal Life is at 9,59 in Wintergrasp. Kill the Living Lashers there. If you use your tab key it will help you to farm these a lot easier.Best Place to Farm Eternal ShadowThe best place to farm Eternal Shadow is at 17,50 in Wintergrasp. Kill the Shadow Revenants there as well as the Wandering Shadows. This can sometimes be a farely competitive farming spot so try to come here in non-peak hours. If you are a miner (which I highly recommend to make quick and easy gold), spend most of your time mining saronite…You will get TONS of eternal shadow this way.Best Place to Farm Eternal WaterThese are probably some of the easier eternals to farm as there are tons of mobs for these spread all over wintergrasp. The best place to farm Eternal Water is to patrol from 29,46 to 69,52. These mobs are in a huge C shape in southern Wintergrasp. Kill both the Glacial Spirits and the Water Revenants here

Ritual of Summoning revamped

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Soul Shards: love them or hate them, they’re iconic of the Warlock class. Most choose to hate them, but I think locks are just full of hate in general and need to vent it somewhere. Along with a tantalizing note about “exciting changes to how soul shards might work, ” European CM Vaneck has just let us know that one common shard-based ability, Ritual of Summoning, is going to be changed Before the 3.1/Ulduar Patch (a promise I’m seeing a lot of lately; we can only hope that patch is soon).
Essentially, the new RoS will create a meeting stone-like object. It’ll still take two players in addition to the Warlock, as well as one shard, but once the ritual has been cast, the stone can be re-used to summon as many people as desired within its five minute duration, and that summoning action will merely require any two players, just like a meeting stone. You can also summon multiple people simultaneously, and all just for one shard. You won’t be able to summon in situations where you currently can’t (Netherstorm, battlegrounds, in combat), but this will make summoning much easier, quicker, and less shard-intensive. A great idea.

plus amazing faction turn ins
Level 54-56: “The cave in the northern part of Iron Tree Woods in Felwood. Level 54ish mobs that don’t hit very hard, are bunched fairly near together, and have a chance to drop living essences which sell nice.” – Waricelm Level 66+: From Nidhogg… ——————————————————————————–Q u o t e:While I’m not prot, I do have a full Holy build that AoEs quite well. You can do this from 66-70 for great exp, plus amazing faction turn ins. Head on out to Blade Mountains and go to Deaths Door. Here are the notable mobs to kill, plus what they do: Death’s Might These are Felguard looking mobs. They Mortal Strike. They are the most abundant mob in this little area so learning how to deal with them is key. Ideally you can do anywhere from 4-8 of them at once. 8 is pushing it… 5 is the best bet for safety. Death’s Watch These are eye looking things. They Mind Flay (or something similiar) you. If you pull one of these in an AoE just single target this one down while Consecrating the rest.

The Spousal Unit is going to take The Spawn for ice cream so that I can focus on herding you cool cats from Elder to Elder. I also have some emails (Hi Diahix!), but unfortunately, I can’t ginvite via email. Here are the details:

Where: Meet at the Bank in Orgrimmar, Zangarmarsh U.S. (PvE server, sorry ganker wannabes)

I hope to see you there!

Warcraft is one of the most
The Free Quest add-on also didn’t include an in game guide, yes, it points an arrow to where to go, but it doesn’t give any other quest details like the more advanced add-ons.World of Warcraft is one of the most popular MMORPG games out there in the world today. The one thing people have trouble in the game is having enough gold for their character. If you are in need of gold, this gold farming guide will answer all your problem.Buying gold is one of the dumbest thing you can do! You are wasting your money on something that isn’t even real. Also, why would you buy gold when you can be making tons by yourself?Obviously, the best method is by using Auctioneer, but it’s pretty complex to learn, so I will discuss some of the things not related to Auction house here. The best gold farming guide will not work anymore because of WOTLK. There are new things that happened because of the release of WOTLK.

Relics of Ulduar and Iron Boot Flask changed in patch 3.0.8

Monday, April 13th, 2009

One of the cooler vanity items you can get in Wrath of the Lich King is the Iron Boot Flask, which turns you into an Iron Dwarf for 10 minutes every hour. Currently it only costs 10 Relics of Ulduar (an item that has a chance to drop off of anything in Storm Peaks), but that’s going to change in patch 3.0.8. The Relics themselves are losing their current Soulbound status, but the Boot Flask will cost a jarring 250 Relics of Ulduar.
That price makes a whole lot of sense for an item like this, to be honest. Similar items, the Orb of the Sin’dorei and the Orb of Deception are both pretty rare. It’s unusual that this one was so cheap, but it’s probably a side effect of the item originally only having one charge in earlier incarnations of the item. Nowadays it has infinite uses but with a cooldown, so that higher price is deserved. You still have a chance to get it before the price change, and I really recommend you do. Especially when you consider the other change coming to the Relics and the Sons of Hodir.
Sons of Hodir reputation will be made a little easier using these Relics, because you’ll be able to turn them in ten at a time to the Sons Quartermaster for 250 reputation per turn-in. I highly, highly recommend buying the boot flask as soon as possible at the current 10 Relic price if you want it, or you’ll have wasted 240 perfectly good Relics! That’s 6,000 rep you could have earned. Or, you know, a ton of gold on the auction house since they’ll no longer be BoP.

best gear for hunters
i want to know wat the best gear for hunters as in wat stats to try to get the most of for what spec so please help me out here.thxFor base stats hunters will mainly want to focus on Agility and Stamina, (Intellect helps for leveling and instances). Hunters also want to get up their Attack Power and Crit Rating. If you are going to be raiding you want to get your hit to 6%% or a little above, and you might want a little MP5 (mana per 5 seconds). If you are just starting a hunter go for Agility Stamina Attack Power and Crit Ratingi suggest if you are lower then lev 40 you should start to get some mail gear becuz when you start to get to some of the higher instances you have to have defence

Reader UI of the Week

Monday, April 13th, 2009

World of Warcraft allows all of us an unprecedented ability to modify our user interface to meet our needs. Each week WoW Insider will bring you a fresh and detailed look at reader submitted UIs. Have a screenshot of your UI you want to submit? Send it, along with your character name and server, to readerui@gmail.com.
Our Reader UI of the Week feature has been on ice for a while now, but is back by popular demand. To make up for lost time, today we’re going to feature three, count ‘em, three different UIs followers of our Twitter feed sent in. Though there’s plenty we might say about each UI, we’re just going to toss out the raw data for your consideration. Is there more to say? Let us know in the comments! We’ll get started with the above from Byron, who tells us, “This is a modified and customized version of DaedhirUI, which you featured a couple months ago. The main addons I use are Dominos, Pitbull, and Healbot. ” He’s using Ampere, Atlas, AtlasLoot, Buffalo, Chatter, Class Timer, CowTip 3.0, Deadly Boss Mods, Decursive, Dominos, eePanels2, EnhTooltip, Fubar 3.5, Good Damage Font 2.0, Healbot, Informant, Omen3, OmniCC, Pitbull 3.0, Portfolio, Postal, Quartz, Rating Buster, Red Range, Scrolling Combat Text, Sexy Map, and Stubby.
Two more UIs — and your comments — are still to come, so read on!

not going to list every
Ulduar will be a 10/25 man level 80 raid dungeon. While the new raid will be the talk for hardcore PVE players, there’s many (too many to list here) class changes. Every single class is getting some sort of changes.like I said I’m not going to list every single class change, but there’s some other interesting game changes you should know about.Ride Your Mount In WaterYou can now ride your mount in water, yes, when you ride into the water you will not be dismounted anymore, you will stay on your mount.Dual Spec For a one time fee of just 1000g (this could change before release) at level 80 you can have the ability to choose 2 specs and switch between them with the click of a button. This is great, if you’re level 80 you know how sometimes your spec stops you from getting groups or you just want to try something different (heal in a BG or DPS).

Raid ID Changes and Lockouts

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Speaking of unintentional things going on in raids, it seems that Blizzard is finally taking notice that players really freaking hate being deceived and that the entire system is grossly flawed. Especially in regards to the duration of a lockout. Those are all poo compared to the glaring issue of players being pretty much lied to and locked into an instance where a few bosses have already been killed. This has never happened to me because Im usually a bit manic, asking 20 questions if I ever join up a pug but for the most part its way too easy now to get duped into something.
Unintentional instance saving
We did speak with some of the developers about this recently. While Im unable to comment on your specific suggestions, Ill say we were all in agreement that something needs to change with raid IDs. On the one hand, we are happy that pick-up groups have a wider array of options at their disposal, whether it be 5, 10, or 25 man content. On the other hand though, its currently too easy to end up saved to an instance thats been cleared, or close to it, without knowing ahead of time this will happen.
Weve been looking at player feedback in this regard, and are working to develop a better interface to warn players that will be saved to an instance thats been partially, or completely cleared. This is something that might not happen in 3.1, but well be discussing this further internally in the near future. (Source)

The Battle of Mount Hyjal
Under Medivh’s guidance, Thrall and Jaina Proudmoore – the leader of the human forces in Kalimdor – realized that they had to put aside their differences. Similarly, the night elves, led by Malfurion and Tyrande, agreed that they must unite if they hoped to defend the World Tree. Unified in purpose, the races of Azeroth worked together to fortify the World Tree’s energies to their utmost. Empowered by the very strength of the world, Malfurion succeeded in unleashing Nordrassil’s primal fury, utterly destroying Archimonde and severing the Legion’s anchor to the Well of Eternity. The final battle shook the continent of Kalimdor to its roots. Unable to draw power from the Well itself, the Burning Legion crumbled under the combined might of the mortal armies.
